Terracotta vase with two large moulded handles, blackened in the mass through reduction firing. The deprivation of air into the furnace near the end of the firing process allows for the emanation of smoke that deeply penetrates into the clay. This vase is decorated with incised spirals. Excellent state of preservation. The term “Gwan refers to the typology of this specific form of vase. Under the Han ritualistic vases sought to imitate bronze vases that were considered much more valuable. These objects woud be placed in tombs, which explains their perfect state of preservation.
