Fishnet pearl necklace of a mummy in ancient style. The necklace is in the form of a so-called Ousbek collar and consists of different rows of beads in assorted colours. The beads have been restrung. Very fine condition.

These necklaces were usually used to decorate mummies in ancient Egypt. It was not uncommon for them to be laid or tied to nets of pearls, which would be strung onto the mummy like a sort of dress and on which amulets would be added. The pale turquoise colour represents the sky, as well as the colour of the flesh of the gods.
