The Bijarchéo Collection is an exclusive trademark of jewellery from Galerie Golconda. Each unique model is crafted using authentic archaeological pieces. Only the most valuable metals such as gold and silver are used so that each piece can be worked in accordance with the traditional methods and manners of ancient jewellery. Beautiful agate scarab mounted on a square ring entirely made by hand, in 18-carat gold and brown silver, three coral cabochons decorating the ring. The Phoenicians lived in Cities on the shores of present-day Lebanon, like Tire or Byblos. An excellent people made up of sailors and merchants, they dominated trade by sea in the Mediterranean. Frequent contact with the Egyptians is known through hieroglyphic texts and representations. The beetle was thus borrowed from Egyptian iconography and reinterpreted as many other Egyptian symbols such as the winged disc or the lotus flower.
