Description :

Flat jade nephrite disc of a green colour with ancient traces of limescale on both side . A hole in the center, the surface covered on both sides with a typical nipple pattern. On the upper part an openwork design extending beyond the disc perimeter features a phoenix or dragon extremely well carved. No missing parts. A collector’s piece.

The object belongs to the funerary ritual and dates from the Western Han dynasty. The typical circular shape is a reference to heaven.
