Description :
Glazed ceramic plate with hand painted detail in blue and white. Adorned with geometric motifs of concentric bands ending with a formation of 10 petals of a flower. Restoration of chips and small parts missing on the edge.
Maiolica is a glazed ceramic of the Italian Renaissance, traditionally depicting historical or legendary scenes in colour on a white backdrop. The name derives from the island of Mallorca, known for the quality achieved by their Moorish potters who frequently worked in Sicily.
